As the owner for ChampMapleCandy.com one of my favorite memories of Vermont is the spring peep frogs. Hike or drive by any beaver pond or swamp area and you were certain to hear a loud chorus of hundreds of little frogs all singing into the night. But, we don't hear as many of those delightful frogs anymore, and it makes you wonder why. Frogs are a direct indicator as to health of our environment, so if you don't hear or see as many frogs, it could be a cause for concern. I guess the same could be said about turtles.
According to SAVE THE FROGS®, frog populations have been declining worldwide at unprecedented rates, and nearly one-third of the world’s amphibian species are threatened with extinction.
So what can you and I do to help save frogs? Three things. Support SaveTheFrogs.com, buy our SAVE THE FROGS maple candy gift box and we'll donate a portion to SaveTheFrogs.com, and reduce the amount of chemicals in your everyday life, from household cleaners to harmful pesticides. If we all do a little, it's adds up to a lot! - Rick Smith, Owner
